Lime Gourd

Description


A large gourd that has been hollowed out,dried and burnished with intricate designs. Originating from Papua New Guinea,gourds such as this one were used to hold a mixture of lime powder (extracted from coral) and crushed betel nut,which would be inhaled to give a mild euphoric high.
