Ankle or knucklebone from a sheep used in games. The piece of bone has had a lead weight attached or inserted, and it appears that each side may have been weighted. Jacks or Knuckle bones is a game still played today, using five bones or bone-like pieces. Alternatively, another game involved marking number on the bones and using them like dice.
